MCINY's 20th Anniversary Video
2011 marked the 20th Anniversary of the Mexican Cultural Institute of New York. The Institute was founded by Amb. Mireya Teran in 1991 - the Institute's first Executive Director. Women Travelers in Latin America

This opening night of the women travelers symposium will consist of a panel discussion featuring scholars Claire Emille Martin, Vanesa Miseres, Lizabeth Paravisini-Gebert, and Adela Pineda Franco. Adriana Méndez Rodenas will moderate. The panel will explore the contributions and legacies of four pioneering women travelers who wrote about their experiences in Latin America in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Calpulli Mexican Dance Company

Consider yourselves invited to a free, outdoor performance with Calpulli in lower Manhattan. Dancers and musicians will present a festive performance with interactive workshops. Practice your footwork (zapateado), skirtwork (faldeo), and just work it with Calpulli!
