The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts offers an average of 38 2, 4, 6 or 8 week long residencies per year to writers, visual artists and composers worldwide. The newly renovated Center, inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, is located in the historic Missouri River town of Nebraska City. Each apartment has a balcony and shares the use of three private landscaped courtyards. Residents are provided with free housing and studio space, internet access and a $100/week stipend. Instrumenta Oaxaca and the State Government of Oaxaca call for participants for the Instrumenta Oaxaca Verano 2007, an Academic-Artistic Musical exchange program that will run from July 30 through August 11, 2007. Students and teachers will interact during two weeks in workshops. The goal of the program is musical specialization.

Skowhegan is an intensive nine-week summer residency program for emerging visual artists. Neither a “school” in the traditional sense nor a “retreat,” the program seeks to create the most stimulating and rigorous environment possible for artistic creation and interaction by providing a concentrated period of work, created with the support and critical assistance of a distinguished faculty of Resident and Visiting Artists. Skowhegan draws its vitality from the talent and energy of the participants, and the community they create. Founded by artists in 1984, the Vermont Studio Center is now the largest and most international artists' and writers' Residency Program in the U.S. Each year VSC hosts 600 outstanding emerging and mid-career painters, sculptors, installation artists, printmakers, photographers, poets, and writers (50 per month) from across the country and around the world. VSC provides 4 to 12 week Residencies on an award-winning 30 building campus in Johnson, Vermont, one of the most scenic and pristine parts of America. In 2005, VSC hosted Residents from 44 different countries and awarded $1,400,000 in 200 Full Fellowships and 300 Partial Fellowships to make their participation possible.

Yaddo offers residencies to professional creative artists from all nations and backgrounds working in one or more of the following media: choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. Artists may apply individually or as members of collaborative teams of two or three persons. They are selected by panels of other professional artists without regard to financial means. Residencies last from two weeks to two months and include room, board, and studio.
